Hannah Berner, the former star of Bravo’s “Summer House”, has revealed that pop singer Charlie Puth slid into her DMs while she was engaged to her now-husband, Des Bishop.
Berner spilled the tea on her podcast, “Giggly Squad”, with her best friend and co-host, Paige DeSorbo. She said that Puth sent her a message on Instagram a day before she left for her bachelorette party in Miami last April.
“He wrote, ‘I like you,’” Berner said, adding that she never opened or replied to the message. “But I wanna say publicly — Charlie thank you, but I am a taken woman.”
Berner and Bishop got married on May 13, 2022, in a secret ceremony in Florida. The couple met on a dating app during the pandemic and got engaged after eight months of dating.
Berner said that Puth was not her “traditional type” and that she took his message as a compliment from one artist to another. She also joked that both her and DeSorbo’s moms are big fans of the “Attention” singer.
“My mom saw him in one interview and was like, ‘He just seems so nice!’” DeSorbo said. Berner quipped, “Even though I’m not available, both our mothers wanna f–k you.”
Puth has not commented on Berner’s claim. The singer is known for his hit songs like “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, “One Call Away”, and “See You Again”. He has also been linked to celebrities like Selena Gomez, Meghan Trainor, and Bella Thorne in the past.
Berner and DeSorbo said that some of their listeners had guessed that Puth was the mystery singer who DM’d Berner, but they kept it a secret until now. They also said that they don’t follow each other on Instagram.
Berner left “Summer House” after five seasons to focus on her comedy career. She and DeSorbo are still close friends and co-hosts of their podcast, where they talk about pop culture, dating, and their personal lives.
