Jessy Schram, who plays Dr. Hannah Asher on NBC’s Chicago Med, has tied the knot with her longtime love Sterling Taylor on June 18. The couple exchanged vows in front of 113 guests in a 60,000-square-foot architectural antiques shop in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
The bride wore a stunning gown by Dana Harel that she described as “classic yet still day dreamy”. The groom looked dapper in a navy suit and a floral tie. The ceremony was officiated by their friend and fellow actor Oded Fehr, who also stars on the One Chicago franchise.
The couple chose the unique venue because they wanted something that felt “out of the ordinary” and “fun and energetic”. They also added their own personal touches to the decor, such as handmade disco balls, custom-made invitations and signage, and a mix of chandeliers and fairy lights.
The reception featured a delicious menu by Michelin-starred Chef Giuseppe Tentori from Boka Catering, who blended the couple’s midwestern, Texan, and Californian roots into a cross-country offering. The guests enjoyed dishes such as braised short rib, Verlasso salmon, and broccoli hash with crispy maitake mushrooms and polenta croquettes.
The newlyweds also treated their guests to a Chicago pizza rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, followed by a sunset cruise down the river to take in the city’s architecture. “We wanted a sense of adventure and community,” Schram said.
Schram and Taylor met in 2017 through a mutual friend and got engaged in 2020. Schram said that getting married means “taking that extra step as partners and co-pilots” and “doing and creating life with someone”. She added: “For us it’s a declaration, not only to ourselves, but with our community, that we choose each other.”
Many of Schram’s current and former co-stars were in attendance to celebrate with the actress, who has also appeared on Mad Men, Veronica Mars and the Hallmark Channel. Schram said she was looking forward to “the most epic dance party” after the ceremony.
