Julia Roberts has some unique thoughts about where her Vivian Ward character from Pretty Woman would be today.

Roberts, 56, became a household name after starring in the 1990 romantic comedy with Richard Gere, which took in $178.4 million domestic ($419.1 million in today’s dollars adjusted for inflation) and $463.4 million worldwide ($1.088 billion when adjusted for inflation).

The story centered on Vivian Ward, a prostitute who crosses paths with businessman Edward Lewis (Richard Gere), who needs a companion for various social events… and they fall in love.

Roberts – who recently opened up about taking magic mushrooms – stopped by CBS Mornings to promote her Netflix movie Leave the World Behind, when Gayle King asked where she thought Vivian Ward would be today.

‘I think he passed away peacefully in his sleep from a heart attack, smiling. And now she runs his business,’ Roberts added.

Gere’s Edward Lewis was a corporate raider who buys and sells companies for profit, though he has changed his ways by the end of the film through meeting Vivian.

While Pretty Woman was the film that truly made Roberts a household name, her true breakout role was in 1988’s Mystic Pizza.

She played Daisy Arujo in that film, and when asked if Daisy and Charles (Adam Storke) are still together, Roberts hoped they would be.

‘Let’s hope they’re still together and they have a bunch of cute little kiddos,” Roberts said in the interview.

The Oscar-winning actress also reflected on her Darby Shaw character in the 1993 John Grisham adaptation The Pelican Brief.

That film followed her character, a law student who teams up with journalist Gray Grantham to uncover a conspiracy.

While many had questioned whether or not Darby and Gray had been romantically entangled throughout the story, Roberts thinks they were a couple.

‘To me, the end of the movie, they’re absolutely together. And someone just said this to me the other day,’ she said.

King brought up the final scene where Shaw is watching Gray on TV, adding, ‘And then the journalist says, “Well, your source seems too good to be true.” And he says, in a way that only Denzel can, “She just might be.”

‘And then in slow motion, I put my head down with my cheeks pink, and that says it all to me. That’s what I thought everybody thought. I think he’s in love with her. She’s in love with him,’ Roberts said.

She also opened up about 1997’s My Best Friend’s Wedding, and whether or not her Julianne character is still with her lifelong best friend Michael O’Neal (Dermot Mulroney)

‘He’s married and faithful to his wife. And George and Julianne start a do-it-yourself show on HGTV and become wildly famous,’ Roberts said.
