Keke Palmer took to Instagram on Monday to share a flashback photo from her pregnancy last year and discuss raising her nine-month-old son Leodis.
The 30-year-old multihyphenate — who recently addressed the drama in her personal life with ex Darius Jackson — uploaded a single photo of herself in a green mini dress and cropped pink zip-up sweatshirt.
Her voluminous dark hair fell over her chest and she donned a pair of cream Gucci sneakers as she posed with her hip poked out.
In a caption to her 13.8 million followers, she wrote that she was ‘reminiscing on this beautiful experience in my life!’
She also revealed to her audience, ‘I had a great epiphany in therapy recently.’

Reflecting on her adolescence as a child star, the Akeelah and the Bee actress wrote, ‘Due to traveling and scheduling both of my parents had to stop working to support my career and be present for my three siblings, leaving me with the financial responsibility around age 12.’
She added that she ‘took great pride in [providing for her family] because I knew what it would do for generations to come and [that it was a] huge blessing that I could even help out.’
The longtime actress continued, ‘However it caused me a lot of pain because I essentially had to abandon my childhood feelings and desires, becoming like a parentalized child, which is something some of you can probably relate to in your own way.’
‘This was something that I have had to continuously work through because I am grateful but often feel like.. I missed “IT,”’ she noted.
Keke marveled, ‘Life can be such a tragic comedy because how funny is it.. that now becoming an actual parent, and the responsibility I’ve always carried being more valid now than ever, has in fact given me the chance to feel what it’s like to be a kid again.’
Then she gushed about rearing her baby boy, ‘I get a chance to explore a lot of the things I missed out on with my son.
‘His freedom is like, the most priceless gift to me. He is already teaching me so much, it’s like he awakened the little me inside that I thought was long gone.’
She finished the message, ‘God never forgets, the irony always gets me.’
Palmer announced her pregnancy to the world last December while hosting Saturday Night Live
Keke’s love life took an unsavory turn earlier this year when her then-boyfriend Darius shed light on the discord in their relationship with a single social media post.
Back in July, after Palmer attended Usher’s Las Vegas residency, Jackson took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice his disapproval of her sexy outfit — a black thong bodysuit worn underneath a sheer dress.
At the time, he wrote online, ‘It’s the outfit tho… you a mom.’ When fans came to Palmer’s defense, Jackson doubled down as he fired off a second tweet defending himself.
Four months later, the extent of their turbulent romance was made public as the new mother filed a restraining order against Darius.
Keke also requested sole legal and physical custody of their baby. The shocking allegations accused her former partner of ongoing ‘physical and emotional abuse.’

Over the weekend, Keke shared a video on Instagram wearing a maroon robe and holding her son in her kitchen.
Nicki Minaj’s Seeing Green played in the background while she swayed to the music making various dramatic faces.
The video was captioned, ‘Alexa, Play Mary J: MY LIFE.’
Over the snippet, she wrote: ‘When reality tv makes everyone believe all celebrities lives are just one big marketing strategy and scheme by my life is truly unraveling at the seams and I just wear trauma like a Dolce & Gabbana coat because sharon didn’t raise no b****.’
